The White House will be hosting an event next Monday, June 29, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Stonewall, with a guest list including LGBT activists and leaders from around the country.
“Next Monday’s event is a chance for the White House to recognize the accomplishments of LGBT Americans. Invited guests include families, volunteers and activists, and community leaders," White House spokesman Shin Inouye said in a statement. "This event was long planned as a way to applaud these individuals during Pride month.”
The White House has not released a list of expected attendees. President Barack Obama is expected to make remarks at the reception, but it's not clear how extensive they will be.
